Coaching
Meet Our Coaches:
Owner/Head Coach – Stephen Thompson
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
Stephen found CrossFit in late 2010. While training on his own in a garage gym for 2 years he earned his CrossFit Level 1 in May 2012. After a move to Ennis in July of that year he began training at CrossFit Waxahachie and developed great relationships with everyone there. Wanting to bring that type of positive culture to Ennis he opened CrossFit Quo Vadis in July of 2014. He has a passion for heath and fitness while leading others in that direction. Over the last several years he has coached, instructed, and written programming for numerous athletes. He is extremely excited to take this community’s fitness to the next level! His wife Julie is also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer who trains here daily with their 1 year old son and a baby on the way!
Coach – Justyn Wilder
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer | CrossFit Weightlifting | CrossFit Kids
Justyn was introduced to CrossFit in 2014 and it immediately became an obsession. Justyn wanted to learn as much as he could to become a better athlete and help others realize their full potential. Justyn is eager to greet everyone who walks through the doors and do whatever he can to make them better! Justyn’s passion has extended to his family – often times you will see his wife Sara and son Layton training in the afternoons.
Coach – Julie Thompson
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Julie is the owner of CrossFit Quo Vadis with her husband, head coach Stephen. Julie started doing CrossFit in 2014 after some years of Stephen participating and really became a part of her life when they opened CFQV in July of 2014. After having her first child and pregnant with her second Julie decided to pursue her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification to become more involved with our clients and helping fill a need in our gym. You will often see Julie at the gym with her two little boys living wild and free!
Coach – Kepha Burke
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Kepha discovered CrossFit quite by accident in 2015. After an extensive background in martial arts, track and field, collegiate basketball, powerlifting, and traditional body building, Kepha turned his attention to becoming a CrossFit athlete. After learning more about CrossFit he decided to pursue his CrossFit Level 1 to be able to help others realize their full potential. You will find Kepha training in the afternoons, always with a smile, and offering pointers to our athletes.
Coach – Emily Cottongame
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Emily, mother of 3 little ones, has set out to make health and fitness a priority for her young family! Emily started with CrossFit Quo Vadis in early 2016 learning and loving this new way of exercise and life style! After seeing great changes and completing in a few local competitions, she wanted to drive deeper into CrossFit methodology, got her husband Kerry involved and wanted to offer more to our community! In late 2018 she obtained her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification and is a staple for our mid morning classes helping to provide a unique experience to those who walk into our doors. You can generally find the whole Cottongame crew at CFQV in the afternoons pursuing health and fun!
