What is Quo Vadis?

“Quo” like quote – “Vadis” pronounced like bodies.

CrossFit Quo Vadis? What does that word mean?

“Quo vadis?” is a Latin phrase meaning “Where are you going?”

The modern usage of the phrase refers to a Christian tradition regarding Saint Peter. According to the apocryphal Acts of Peter, Peter is fleeing Rome (from likely crucifixion) at the hands of the government, and along the road outside the city he meets a risen Jesus.

In the Latin translation, Peter asks Jesus “Quo vadis?”, to which he replies, “Romam vado iterum crucifigi” (“I am going to Rome to be crucified again”). Peter thereby gains the courage to continue his ministry and returns to the city, to eventually be martyred by being crucified upside-down.

It is important to always know where we going in life, what is the end goal, what are we trying to accomplish, what are we doing, QUO VADIS!?

CrossFit is more than getting in really good shape. It is discovering yourself through physical fitness; through aches and pains; sweat and tears; joy and excitement. But often times, through physical training, people discover more about who they are as a human person. They recognize truths of the soul that become revealed through the body (what’s true for the body is true for the soul – you cannot separate the two). Many people discover deeper happiness and peace in their lives. Not because they can run and push a barbell over their head, but because truth of their creation is revealed in the expression of physical fitness and the community that surrounds CrossFit.

Discipline allows growth in virtue. Growth in virtue makes you a better: person to live with, husband, wife, father, brother, mother, daughter, employee, or whoever you are to whomever.

This CrossFit training will not only get you in terrific physical condition, but it will allow to examine your life and have you answer the question – Quo Vadis?
